I remember the switch to Vista, Vista sucked so bad it was unusable trash. And then Win 8 with those tiles. 8 was really good though once you disabled the tiles and touchscreen shit and edited it into being like 7

XP is actually so fucked up in so many ways. I just remember how it doesnt support multiple network cards. It's file system is also incredibly slow. If you virtualize it and run it on SSDs it should be able to download fast and write to disk fast. But its so unoptimised that disk writing is terrible.
People tend to look at it through rose colored glasses but it had terrible UX. Apparently the server version (win 2000?) was much better at that time. Different code base, but had fixed most of the bugs that XP still had. Vista fixed a lot of stuff after that but they fucked up the UX so much that most people didnt want to use it.
