i think there are people paying to AstroTurf reddit and downplay the risks of ai. i know how this sounds... but it seems to fit whats happening.
ive seen repeated denials of many common sense topics. most often job loss and it makes me think they're trying to psy op the fuck out of it. not even joking.

what seems likely to me is that everyone will lose their comfy office jobs and be replaced with AI, but... we still won't have Super Artificial General Intelligence like the nerds dream... so we won't cure cancer or become post-scarcity where machines do all the work while we paint or write poetry... it will be the reverse, AI gets to be creative and replace all the knowledge workers, while all the humans have to do manual labor lmfao.
