shounen truly is peak anime. it's just a bunch of friends trying to save the world using their cool powers based on a well-thought-out magic system. nothing in the west compares with that because it's completely lacking in irony, it's not trying to peddle tranny and faggot shit to you, it's very sincere in its messaging because japan isn't afraid to risk being childish and sentimental.
