nah, dried beans. i leave them to soak overnight, then i boil them for 30 minutes and throw away the water and wash them. then i add water again, onions, garlic, carrots, a small pepper, sausages and/or bacon chunks, seasoning and cook for about 2 hours. finally, i mix paprika and oil in a separate pan and heat it up till it starts bubbling, and then i add that to the stew.
end result is something like this:from there you can stick it in the oven if you want baked beans, but the stew version is very delish.

i have a crock pot with a timer, so most of the work is just chopping up the ingredients and remembering to leave them out the night before.

dude, this shit is not complicated at all. following step by step instructions does not require much skill, especially when it requires no finesse, no temperature control or special techniques. chopping up veggies and meat and putting it in a pot and setting a timer. i learned most of it by observing my mother. i guess people in america and australia don't cook much? stews are probably the easiest home cooked meals you can make.
