people root for the underdog. the animal is inferior to the human, so when it manages to get one over on the human, people celebrate it. attaboy tiger, you've been locked in a cage for a decade, time to show these humans what's up. people will just assume the adult had some kind of bad intentions for falling into the cage, he was looking for attention, probably wanted to do some social media stunt, all kinds of projections and theories to rationalize it. but it turned out the guy was just some kind of special needs person and it really was unfortunate. my first thought when i read the story was, how do you even fall in there? no one seem to be interested in that, all the comments were making jokes and praising the tiger.
