they can't look into the future and see that it's hopeless. they can't look in the past and feel regret.
they just live in the moment like animals with slightly higher cognitive abilities that allows them to cheat, steal and lie in complex ways - but not enough to have a conscience.

Their expectations are low, they don't get disappointed. In the west we have reels and ads full of hedonism and people living blissfully and telling us we can have that and deserve it
