My mother was a nurse at nursing homes when I was a kid and sometimes I would be there with her for some reason maybe after school or something or on a day I didn't go to school I can't remember. But it was a strangely comfy place. Long hallways kinda like the backrooms
One of the nursing homes was run by nuns next to a catholic school and like if you followed the linear hallways to the end you would reach a closed door to a little chapel/church and I stood behind the door that was slightly ajar and heard the nuns talking echoing inside there. All seemed bigger and the hours longer back then walking around the hallways as the twilight set in waiting for the aul ma to take me home. One of the nursing homes was actually huge though, it was basically a mansion, but I don't think I got to explore that one as much.

The residents are in fact like zombies, slow and shambling, quiet. They can take a million years to walk down the hallway. I seem to remember the smell of creamed corn or some kind of soup coming down from the kitchen

Someone posted this on 4chan saying it was a care home. This is what they were like

nursing homes are so depressing. visited my grandparents there a few times before they passed away. prolonging life so long doesnt mean the years will be worth it...

As a kid it was comfy, probably cause it was quiet and peaceful and I had this huge place to explore and not think about the reality of it. I usually had my twin brother with me too
